This blog post will introduce how to write a compelling graduate school application for those who are preparing to go to graduate school in business administration.
Reason for applying (reason for choosing the major)
I won the ○○ Award at the Venture Startup Competition held by the Startup Incubator Center during my undergraduate studies. I used the marketing knowledge and market research methods I learned in the business administration department to systematically analyze the marketability and establish a concrete business plan, and established a venture company called ○○ Co., Ltd. in ○○. During the preparation of the business, I faced difficulties due to a lack of capital, inexperience, and the fact that I was still a student, but now I am earning some income as I begin to promote the business to consumers. Although the company is still small, it is being evaluated as a successful business model by those around me.
The business administration classes I took when I was starting my business were not just academic classes, but precious time that became the foundation for my business. I felt that I had to take on greater responsibility and work harder than others when I started my business. So I found my vision at Kyungki University, which was founded with the aim of developing multinational management leaders who can quickly respond to changes in markets and cultures not only in Korea but also in other countries. I was also attracted to the fact that Kyungki University provides the best education system and curriculum that help undergraduate students discover their potential capabilities and characteristics and brand themselves.
I believe that under the guidance of a great professor, I will be able to acquire the qualities of a competitive manager through the process of studying advanced management theories and techniques in line with the global trends of informatization and internationalization and applying them to the Korean situation.
Study plan and goals
I will develop my abilities at this school to become a manager with an international management vision and leadership. Using various case studies, I will continue to study so that I can predict the future in a rapidly changing business environment, establish a new vision, and cultivate creative leadership. By combining theoretical knowledge of advanced management techniques with know-how that can be applied to the field of industry, I will become an active and change-leading manager.
In particular, I am very interested in ubiquitous technology management. Last year, the Ministry of Information and Communication designated most of the nine new growth engines that will support the Korean economy in the 21st century as core technologies for the realization of a ubiquitous society. I will study ubiquitous theory and practice at my university and research technology management that can create customer- and human-centric values to develop the ability to create ubiquitous business models.
Plans after graduation
I have a dream of becoming a competitive global manager. Based on a broad perspective and deep insight, I want to understand global trends, build and implement strategies with global competitiveness, and become a global leader who can freely communicate with the world while understanding the diversity of the world.
While pursuing my doctorate, I will write a thesis on the role of corporate organizations and information technology in a ubiquitous environment, and I plan to create a ubiquitous research group to study the convergence of ubiquitous and IT in depth. In the future, I plan to enter the Chinese market once my venture company, which I run, gains a foothold in Korea. With my fluent Chinese, I plan to promote Korean custom-designed products widely in the Chinese market.
Self-introduction (life view, values)
I always tell myself, “The road is not what I go on, but where I go is the road,” and I try to live a confident life, and I live with a sense of purpose to live a purposeful life in any environment.
I went to Beijing, China to study Chinese in ○ last month. I had to adapt to society again because I had just been discharged from the military, so I had some difficulties starting over overseas, but I was able to gain patience and perseverance while overcoming those difficulties and I was able to acquire an international sense suitable for the era of globalization. As the demand for Chinese increased, I was able to meet foreigners from all over the world who came to learn Chinese. I was able to easily become friends with them as I often met them, and I am very satisfied with the overseas training in China because I was able to understand the cultures and ways of thinking of many countries while having many conversations.
I have been trying to develop an international perspective by traveling abroad from an early age. Now that I have chosen to return to school for a bigger vision, I will always do my best to study with sincerity and responsibility, and above all, I will do my best to make sure that I do not have any regrets because this is the path I have chosen.
