Topic – Regret is a waste of time

There is a hospice doctor who takes care of a terminally ill patient named ‘Otsu Shuichi’.
He is the one who observed the deaths of 1,000 people and found that everyone has regrets at the end of their lives, and that these regrets, which people think of as “homework that they have not solved in their lives,” have something in common, and he organized them into a book.
“If I had thanked my loved ones more, if I had done what I really wanted to do, if I had been a little more humble, if I had been kind, if I had not done bad things, if I had dreamed and tried to realize that dream” are not much different from the regrets that come with age.
So perhaps it is natural that the last stage of life, death, should follow aging.
Is that why it is so unfortunate, regrettable, and heartbreaking to die young?
However, when you read items such as “If I had married, had children, or married my children,” you begin to question whether you can make all of your decisions in the face of life choices that can never be perfect, just so that you won’t regret them before you die.
In particular, the marriage of a child who has rushed to marry before dying may or may not bring good results. Even if it is the last wish before death, it is better to admit that marriage is the business of the parties and put aside the mental homework.
I may not have the right to speak because I am not facing death and I am not in a situation where I have a child of marriageable age.
Also, the items “If I had thought about my funeral in advance, if I had thought about my funeral, if I had made my final wishes while I was healthy, if I had seriously considered the meaning of treatment, and if I had known God’s teachings” are more like specific practices of preparing for death and dignified death that are often mentioned these days.
In most cases, the decisions that patients and their families must make together are made by their caregivers, who are younger, stronger, and have a louder voice than the patients themselves.
That is why it is important to talk and express your opinion when you are healthy.
Dwelling on the past is the greatest waste of time in the world.
A prominent New York psychiatrist said in his retirement speech: “I have found a mentor who has helped me most in changing my lifestyle while seeing my patients.
“It is the word ‘if’ that many patients say.
Patients spend most of their time looking back and regretting what they should have done but didn’t.
“If only I had prepared for that interview.”
“If I hadn’t sent that person in.”
But spending time regretting will only bring tremendous mental exhaustion.
Why not try this instead?
Replace the word “if” you habitually use with “if only.
If you missed a class you really should have attended, say this.
“I will definitely take that class next time I have the chance!”
Then one day you’ll find that those words have already become a habit of yours.
Never keep the past in your heart.
If you suddenly feel sorry for something that happened in the past, say to yourself.
“Next time I won’t do something so stupid.
If you do this, you will be able to escape from the regrets of the past and at the same time spend your precious time and passion on reality and the future.

Theme – Happiness is knowing how to be satisfied

It is said that happiness is a life of contentment.
But none of you, including me, is living a life of contentment.
We live with a sense of deficiency and a sense of lack.
If you are satisfied with yourself, then whatever you eat, wear, or do is a happy life.
It is said that our unhappiness comes from a sense of deficiency rather than a lack of something.
It is also said that it comes from a relative sense of lack that is felt when comparing oneself to others.
First, wealth, which is a little short of what you want to eat, wear, and live on.
Second, a slightly lacking appearance that everyone praises.
Third, the honor of being recognized for only half of what you are.
Fourth, the stamina to compete and win against one person and lose against two.
Fifth, the eloquence to speak to an audience that does not clap even after listening to a speech.
The conditions for happiness are not perfect and satisfactory.
It is a little lacking and insufficient.
If you are in a perfect state where you have no lack of wealth or honor, you will live a life of worry, anxiety, tension, and unhappiness.
There is a saying that it is better to be lacking than to be overflowing.
It is a warning that if you are not satisfied and you pursue your desires, you will eventually become angry.
However, people are always chasing after their desires and do not know how to satisfy them easily, so they often fall into the path of destruction.
Humans mature themselves through the great motto of change and development as they live.
Perhaps these two statements are the values that man must constantly pursue in his life.
However, if change and development are turned into the pursuit of desire, the situation will inevitably become serious.
Growth is enough to satisfy oneself, and success is within the bounds of not harming one’s peace of mind.
A life of contentment is a positive attitude that leaves space in the mind empty and can fill that space at any time.
When such a mindset becomes habitual, one can accept many things into a more spacious mind and judge situations with a relaxed attitude.
Perhaps this is why the ancient scholars shunned wealth and fame and pursued a life of contentment, longing for the stability and peace that such a life would bring.
A life of contentment is a humble attitude of keeping away from vain desires and being grateful for the life that has been given.
Therefore, it is essential to keep in mind that identifying one’s position and living a life appropriate to that position is an essential requirement for living a life of contentment, and the task of re-examining one’s position at every moment becomes a necessary condition for living.
Plato believed that happiness lies in the daily life of striving to fill the gaps in one’s life.
We are not aware of this.
This is because we are always thinking more about what is missing or lacking.
Happiness comes to those who know how to be satisfied while doing what they want to do.
We must know that happiness does not come from material wealth, but from a contented mind.

Topic – Secrets of Public Speaking

The Samsung Economic Research Institute asked CEOs what qualities they needed to be a good CEO.
The number one skill was interpersonal skills.
This means that it is based on communication skills.
The results of a survey of 500 CEOs of Fortune 500 companies by the American business magazine Fortune are similar.
In first place was general humanity, and in second place was communication skills.
I guess communication skills are not only needed by people in high positions.
About 30% of job seekers who failed the interview cited poor communication skills as the reason.
Even those who confidently point out the company’s current status and problems during the interview and clearly state how much they are needed, sometimes ramble when asked unexpected questions such as what they plan to do with the rest of the day after the interview and what they will do when they get to work.
This is probably because they are used to giving rehearsed statements, but are not comfortable having casual conversations.
In addition to professional life, being able to speak well is considered the most important skill in relationships between men and women.
About 40% of unmarried men and women say that speaking with humor is a skill they want their children to have as a lubricant for social life.
However, less than 20% of people are satisfied with their speaking skills.
What do people who cannot speak have in common?
Most people are unable to listen to other people’s stories, are stingy with praise or gratitude, are greedy, or are introverted and afraid to show themselves as they are.
Worst of all is the habit of boringly mumbling about negative things.
Do you have verbal problems?
Why don’t you check your speaking habits with the people closest to you?
How can I speak well?
Due to the social and cultural characteristics of Koreans, they have preferred to be silent and reserved since childhood.
So they didn’t like to ask questions.
In the past, a student who asked a lot of questions in class was treated as a disruptive student.
As a result, the reality was that the person with the loudest voice won unconditionally, rather than the person who pointed out the logic or offered a reasonable alternative.
Thoughtfulness and confidence.
These are the greatest virtues of a good speaker.
You don’t necessarily have to have a smooth way with words, and it’s important to make the most of your own qualities.
Those who are good speakers, such as Kim Je-dong, who is considered to be a good speaker in the broadcasting industry, has sloppiness as his weapon, and the anchorwoman Son Seok-hee has a logical analysis ability, while the politician Roh Hoe-chan has a wealth of analogies.
How about using your own speaking techniques and making the most of your own characteristics?
If you find that you have trouble speaking, that people fall silent, or that the atmosphere turns sour after a joke, I hope you will identify your problem and find your own speaking techniques.
You can become a master of conversation.
Thank you for listening.

Topic – Happiness is not a thought, it is a feeling

Hello everyone.
Are you having any difficulties these days?
I’m sure everyone has their own worries.
When I think about it, I realize that the things that make my life difficult are not external.
Many people here and there are still using the world’s standards of judgment and acting like they are the only ones who are suffering.
Whatever they do, if I don’t accept it as mine, it won’t appear in my reality.
The moment I apply a standard of judgment to something, I become obsessed with the illusion of right and wrong, which affects my state of being and attracts things that match it into my life.
People who do not understand this mechanism still look outward without looking inward.
Countless people dream of and search for happiness.
For them, happiness means having someone who loves them, a fat wallet, this month’s business success, a diploma for their son or daughter, or good health.
Such a state of responding to external stimuli cannot be called true happiness.
Now, are you happy right now?
Even though nothing has changed in me, I wonder if I can be happy just by existing.
That is what my soul really wants, but most people focus on people and cannot see their inner selves.
After all, happiness isn’t a thought, it’s a feeling, right?
However, people may conclude that happiness is a matter of fulfilling certain conditions.
If you can find your inner feelings and apply them to your life, you will be able to stand on your own above everything.
This is true enlightenment, true happiness, and true love.
I hope you will reflect on the true meaning of happiness.
Thank you for listening.

Topic – Let’s think about the conditions for core talent

Do you have a job right now? Do you have a job?
In recent years, social problems have arisen in Korean society due to the imbalance between job offers and job seekers.
Universities promote themselves as job search academies, and students study hard for their jobs.
Even those who have entered the workforce are studying to survive out of fear of early retirement, and those who are about to retire are studying for the remaining 30 years.
In a society where people strive to get a job to make money, I wonder what true talent looks like.
What the current and next generations want is “independent talent with professional skills.
Let’s take a look at how talents have evolved.
Talent 1.0 was derived from the manual workers of the industrial society.
At that time, talents were focused on their work. They worked like machine parts.
So having a healthy body was a requirement for Talents.
Because a healthy body allows you to work for a long time.
These people are called “blue collar,” and the outstanding ones among them are called Talent 1.0.
Talent 2.0 was derived from the working class in the economy and society.
The talents of that time worked hard to focus on information.
They worked like machines producing information.
Therefore, work experience was a requirement for talent.
This is because they had to be skilled in their work after working for a long time in a single profession or job category.
These people are called “white-collar workers”, and the most talented among them are called “Talent 2.0”.
And Talent 3.0 is derived from knowledge workers in the knowledge society.
Until recently, these talents focused on their work based on their diverse experience and knowledge.
I applied and focused on my work using my existing knowledge.
Therefore, the requirement for talent was to have professional knowledge and use it in work.
This is because it is necessary to know a lot of different knowledge. Such people are called “gold-collar workers,” and the most outstanding among them are called Talent 3.0.
However, the ideal talent in today’s society is Talent 3, Wisdom and Happiness.
We call it Talent 4.0.
Talent 4.0, which has recently emerged, is a derivative of the process by which knowledge workers are evolving into creative wisdom workers.
Talent 4.0 refers to employees who have wisdom and creativity beyond knowledge.
They create and invent and find joy and pleasure in life.
They are proactive in change, applying their knowledge to other areas and suggesting new ways of doing things.
These people are called “Rainbow Colored People” and the most outstanding among them are called Talent 4.0.
Talent 4.0 is the best talent and the core talent that companies want.
If we look at their characteristics,
First, they operate on the basis of trust and belief.
They are active and self-directed, so trust is important in their relationships with others.
They do not work or associate with people they do not trust, and they demonstrate their abilities in relationships where trust can be given and received.
Second, they seek pleasure and happiness.
The reason they work is not to make money or gain fame, but only to make themselves happy.
Therefore, they look for work that they can do well and enjoy.
That is why I take pride in even the smallest things I do.
Third, I make sharing and contributing a way of life.
While I seek my own satisfaction in my current life, I am also interested in activities that bring that satisfaction to others.
To put this into practice, I have a global perspective, not just a Korean one.
What should I do to become a Talent 4.0?
It starts with making yourself happy.
In that happiness, you must continue to develop yourself so that you can grow.
And above all, you must be able to produce excellent results in the areas in which you excel.
Thank you for listening.

Topic – You must first think from the other person’s perspective

Hello. ○○○. Nice to meet you.
How long have you been working? I think when you enter the workforce, you come into contact with a lot of different people, more than when you were in middle school, high school, and college. What are your coworkers, your boss, and your subordinates like?
I think these are people you will be with for the rest of your life, and you will spend more time with them than with your family. So I think they’re easier to get along with, but also harder to get along with.
I recently met a friend who works in the HR department of a parent company, and he sighed and complained to me at a drinking party. He said that the most important thing to look at when hiring someone is their personality. However, he said that it is difficult to fully assess a person’s personality based on their academic background and work experience as written on their application form, a few minutes of interview, and an aptitude test.
However, when they have a private conversation with their colleagues from other departments, they say they resent the HR department. They speak ill of their superiors and juniors who were hired through a competitive hiring process with a few hundred applicants.
One of the things I feel more and more as I get older is that there are different people in the world, and we should recognize and respect that. Not everyone grew up in the same or similar environment. It is not an exaggeration to say that the personality and cognition formed in such a diverse environment of growth create the individuality of the person.
I thought that my common sense was the general and popular “common sense”, but there are too many people in the company who do not accept this “common sense”.
But we should not complain about it, because it is so natural and natural. So how do we live in harmony with so many different people who need to be together for more than half of the day?
In fact, the answer is so obvious and simple, but it is difficult to do well. It is a mindset of compromise, consideration, and putting yourself in the other person’s shoes.
In fact, putting yourself in the other person’s shoes and thinking of others first is natural, but it is not easy at all. It is a hard world. When is the time to save for marriage, when is the time to get a promotion, and when is the time to plan for retirement? Before you think about others, you have too little time to invest in yourself. Moreover, if you think that you can succeed in this tough society only by winning the competition with others, it may be even more difficult to have a mind that thinks of others first.
The endless repetition of fear and competition. What kind of person are you in this situation?
I think it’s time to think about whether we are thinking from the other person’s point of view, how much we recognize the diversity of people in the world, and whether we are caught up in competition and inferiority.
Thank you for listening.

Topic – We need to think big

Hello, everyone.
I am honored to be here with so many of you.
Korean businessmen and officials are all creative, passionate and have big ideas.
Big ideas are also the essential factors for success that are mentioned in self-help books, manuals and other books.
It is natural to think big instead of small.
This cannot be emphasized enough.
However, big ideas are needed in every organization, whether it is a business or a government, but the reality is the opposite.
People always think small.
For example, companies and governments are busy repeating the same processes and following other companies.
This is not a vision for the organization.
We need to think about how to break out of the mold.
In 2004, Dove launched a strategy called the Real Beauty Campaign.
Most beauty companies use perfect models with beautiful skin in their ads.
They send the message that you should use their products to become like these women.
But Dove is taking a very different approach.
It runs a Real Beauty campaign that says you are beautiful just the way you are.
Real people don’t have perfect skin or bodies.
They are older than magazine models.
But it starts with the concept that they are beautiful in their own right.
The next step is to do a survey asking “What is beauty?” without any advertising.
The next step is to start an advertising campaign.
One of the models in this campaign was a 97-year-old grandmother.
Following, seeking only safe paths, avoiding risks, and maintaining the status quo.
These are things that need to be abandoned.
We need the courage to take risks, the passion to be curious and interested, and the patience not to give up.
Thank you for listening.

Topic – We need a mind that expresses

There was an employee. He was diligent and hardworking and had a good reputation in the company. He was also very good at getting things done. I was surprised to hear that he had paid for his tuition since he was in school and that he had earned his own allowance. I was impressed with how well his parents raised him. I thought to myself, “I wish my child could grow up like that.
As usual, the clerk came to work. His face was white as a sheet. I told him to go home if he was sick, but he said he was fine. He skipped lunch and finished all his work on time, completing the day’s schedule. All the employees gave him a thumbs up and said he was very strong-minded and hardworking. So did I. He is a very responsible employee, even though he looks really sick. But the truth was different. It was true that they seemed inhuman.
When you say something is difficult or painful, solutions and recipes come out. If you pretend to be difficult and not difficult, or pretend to be in pain and not in pain, no one will help you. I wanted to let them know that their weak pride and introverted thoughts would only make them more difficult and would not help them at all. I was afraid of saying something unnecessary or hurting my pride, so I kept my mouth shut, but I still felt bad.
Maybe it’s because it’s been a habit since I was a child. Habits are hard to break, even as an adult. If you keep doing them, they can become a mental illness. Instead of trying to defend yourself, why don’t you try to open up a little more to the other person?
A wise and intelligent person is one who can speak honestly about his thoughts and circumstances. One should remember that a person who swallows his pain, sadness, and suffering alone and burns it inside because of his weak pride will always live in darkness.

Topic – Praise Makes Even a Whale Dance

A boss at work recognizes an employee, a teacher at school recognizes a student, and a parent recognizes a child. Recognition is like praise. People want to be recognized by others because they want to have a conversation with them. Isn’t the motivation for sending an email or making a phone call, for working hard and being kind to others, to be recognized? It is because we want to be told, “You’re working hard,” “You’re great,” and “Thank you.
As the saying goes, praise makes a whale dance, and recognition is just as valuable as praise. A small compliment made a latecomer to ballet a genius ballerina. Just as the teacher’s compliment, “Each movement is like a poem,” made world-famous ballerina Kang Soo-jin, praise is about respecting and recognizing the precious value of the other person.
Hana Bank’s latest TV commercial, which is currently airing, conveys a message of praise and conveys a sense of calm and comfort. In particular, the commercial praises the people around us, such as a young girl putting a pillow on her younger brother’s arm and taking a nap together, and a Southeast Asian woman saying that she is glad she came to Korea and started a family, while conveying the message of “making a better world.
We all need a warm look of approval and the comfort of knowing that we are doing well. There is a saying that even the sweetest flower song is only heard once or twice. Compliments and recognition are especially important. Simple and clear compliments will multiply their effect.
I hope you will recognize and praise others with a sincere heart. Sincere words from the heart will make the value of the other person shine even more. Let’s try to discover the value of others. It is said that people who criticize others see the faults in others first, while people who praise others see only the good things. We should develop the habit of praising others.

Theme – People Who Seek True Value

When it comes to negotiating the annual salary, there are many disagreements. The gap between the person who wants to receive and the person who wants to pay is widening. I feel upset and empty because it seems that compensation is based on the value of the person. I feel upset because I feel that I am worth less than the compensation I have earned. I know this is not the whole story, but no one is free from compensation.
The steel magnate Carnegie gave a unique test to employees who wanted to be promoted to management positions. First, he found out how much work they could do without pay. Then he found out how firmly their minds were focused on a clear goal and whether they were well prepared to achieve that goal.
When I was in college, I followed people who were willing to pay to learn and wanted to intern for free, and I was grateful when new employees taught me how to do my job for a fee. When I think about it now, I feel like I am not worth the salary I receive. There are days when I feel this way. I used to have pure passion and gratitude for everything, but now I feel like I lack that kind of passion.
If life goes the way I want it to, the world would be tasteless and it would be difficult to achieve any goals or ideals in life. I think if I have clear goals, they would not be a big obstacle, because moderate trials and tribulations would help me grow and keep me on the right track. It is important to place value on something. You should have a sense of purpose, whether it is money, developing your skills, or learning a trade.
The power of a purpose is an amazing ability to keep you upright in any difficulty. If you measure your worth by compensation or salary, then that person is only worth that amount. But when a person is built with a bigger dream and vision, their value is immeasurable. I hope you will be a person who pursues the value of participation.
